Teachers - Middle School
I'm not even sure how to begin this introduction!! My years of teaching? My subjects? My appreciation of having facing sitting in front of me? My summer holidays? It all seems so inane right now!
I guess I can honestly say that this has been the strangest start up in my 25 years of teaching! I can also honestly say that this was the HAPPIEST I have ever been to see faces in front of me on the first day of school. There was a multitude of emotions coursing through me as we began the 2020-2021 school year. And there still is!!
That being said, let me introduce myself to those of you who may not know me!
This is my 26th year of teaching, and all of these years have been in Delburne School. All three of my daughters graduated from Delburne School, and one of my daughters is now teaching at Delburne School. So, I would say that I have a deep connection with your child's school. It is the place that I absolutely choose to be!!
This year I will be teaching Math and Science to the grade 7 and 8 students. Some may say I am crazy for wanting to be in Middle School (and they may be right!), but these are the ages of choice for me!! As I get older, the energy and "crazy" that this age brings is essential for me to consume!! They keep me going, and I enjoy all the nuttiness that this life stage brings!!
I am looking forward to getting to know my new students this year, and learning as much as they do! As I enter my classroom in the mornings, I give myself a little smile, and think to myself how quickly time goes: I have two students in my class who's parents were in my FIRST class! It truly doesn't seem to be that long ago!
Anyway, there is my rambling for today!! Should you have any questions during the year, please don't hesitate to contact me at the school, or via the school email!! I am looking forward to working with you and your children in the 2019-2020 school year!!
