Commencement Exercises Friday, May 24 at the Delburne Community Hall. 

Mundare Sausage Fundraiser

Delburne PAC is excited to be selling a variety of products from Mundare Sausages. We have heard very favorable reviews about these products and would encourage everybody to try them and support your PAC as we support various school funding projects.

The fundraising campaign will run from Friday May 10th to Friday May 24th and delivery of the products will be the week of June 10th. Order forms are available from any PAC executive member or the school. Please return order forms to the school or a PAC member by Friday, May 24th at the latest.

DCS Awards Assembly

May 27th, period 7,  (approx 2:00pm), Large Gym

In addition to our regular awards for Dedication, Citizenship and Spirit, we will be recognizing those that have been involved with our "Roots of Empathy" program, as well as presenting the Legion Poem, Poster, Essay contest winners!

An action packed assembly for sure!

Athletic News

JH Track and Field to Begin Soon

That’s right! We are daring spring to come! JH Track Practices will being next Monday, May 6th. We are asking ALL JH Track athletes to attend this day from 3:15 – 4:30 pm. Ms. Kozey will be heading up the throwing events, and Mrs. Bourne will be working with the jumpers. A schedule will be worked out for the short and long distance runners as well. Practices will be held up to 4 days per week, and we are asking for a minimum 2 day per week commitment from our athletes. Please see the calendar of events for practice dates and focus. The CENAA meet will be held at the Legion Track (Lindsay Thurber High School) on Wed, June 5th, with the alternate rain out date Tues, June 11th. There is also a possibility of attending an invitation meet in Stettler on Tues, June 11th if the stars align!! We will keep you posted! T-shirts for purchase may be available to athlete who do not own one already! Again, we’ll keep you posted!! In the meantime, please look at the calendar of events for the practice schedule!

Another JH Badminton Winner!!

Congratulations to Chance Duda (grade 7) who finished second at an invitation badminton tournament held at Hunting Hills High School on April 12/13th! This tournament was open to all school in central Alberta, and Chance did a fantastic job!! Quite an accomplishment. Many thanks to Ms. Galenza and Mrs. Geertsma for giving up their Friday evening and Saturday for attend this event with our students!! Good luck to all badminton athletes as they compete at CENAA this weekend (May 3rd and 4th)

Chinooks Edge Badminton Exhibition Tourney Completed - Bronze Medal Winners

A huge congratulations to Alexis Chaffin and Kayla Waldo for their performance at the CE Exhibition Badminton tournament this past weekend!! Alexis and Kayla won the bronze medal in the grade 7 girls doubles category!!! In all, 23 grade 7-9 students attended this event held in Sylvan Lake! Thank you to Ms. Galenza and Mrs. Geertsma for lending their Saturday to these athletes!!

JH Badminton Begins!

Thank you to Ms. Galenza and Mrs. Geertsma for heading up our junior high badminton team again this year! Selections have been made, with the first exhibition tournament this Saturday, March 23rd. Please see the Calendar of Events for tournament dates for this season. Congratulations to all athletes who made the JH team this year! Best of luck to you all!

JH A Girls Basketball - Another Successful Season

Congratulations to our JH A girls for their strong finish at CWAJHAA this year! The girls had a tough battle during the 1J CWAJHAA bronze medal game against Theresetta, with the score fluctuating throughout the whole game. During the last two minutes of play, our Trojans came back from a 15 point deficit, to lose by 2 points at the buzzer!! Very exciting indeed! Thank you to all the supportive parents, and especially to Deb McKinlay for heading up the crew again this year!!

JH B Basketball Girls Win Bronze!!

Congrats to the Junior B Girls Basketball team! The girls played in a tournament hosted by Erskine School over the weekend. There were 6 teams and the Delburne Trojans placed 3rd! Their dedication and hard work paid off! Way to go girls!!! Thanks to the many parent fans that joined us for the day, your support is always appreciated. Ms. Galenza and Mrs. MacDonell
